TPUM President Arrives for Union Session Preparations

The Trans-Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) family joyfully welcomes Pastor Charlie Jimmy as its newly appointed president. His appointment was officially voted on Tuesday, August 20, during the South Pacific Division (SPD) Executive Committee meetings held at the Division headquarters in Wahroonga, Sydney.

Nauru church members recently experienced a spirit-filled two weeks of leadership and media training designed to strengthen their mission and prepare them for greater outreach.

It was a Sabbath to remember in Funafuti as the Seventh-day Adventist Church family gathered to witness the sacred ordination of Pastor Waisale Dokonivalu, marking a significant milestone in his journey of faith and service.

Today marks the fourth day of the 62nd General Conference Session, and it is clear that God is guiding His Church. One of the most powerful moments came when newly elected leaders were called and confirmed. Before accepting their responsibilities, some paused to pray with their families, seeking God’s strength and wisdom. It reminded us all that leadership in God’s Church is not about power, it’s about service and faithfulness.

The Trans Pacific Union Mission Executive Committee met on 1 June at the Fiji Mission Conference Centre with hearts united under the theme “I Will Go to the Ends of the World.” Leaders from across the Pacific came together to reflect, plan, and pray for the mission ahead.

May 31, 2025 marked a significant milestone for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Fiji with the official nationwide launch of the Fiji for Christ evangelistic campaign. This historic initiative was inaugurated simultaneously at key locations across the country, uniting church leaders, departmental directors, and members in one purpose—to lift up Jesus and prepare for a nationwide wave of evangelism.

West Java, Indonesia. In a heartfelt visit, the President of the Trans-Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) Pr. Maveni Kaufononga spent time with missionaries serving across different schools in West Java, recognizing their dedication and the profound impact they are making in their communities.

Last night, Epauto Hall was alive with praise. Families, friends, and neighbors packed the venue to welcome Revelation 7, a group that had not sung together for 14 years.

Joy filled Kese village on Naviti Island as ten precious souls publicly chose to follow Jesus. Their baptism marked the climax of three weeks of heartfelt preaching by TL Samu Koro. Believers from across the Yasawa Islands gathered to witness this milestone, celebrating God’s power to change lives even in places that are hard to reach.

This week marked a significant milestone as the final joint gathering for the 2021–2025 quinquennium brought together the ADRA Vanuatu staff, Vanuatu Mission staff, eight district leaders, and Trans-Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) leaders, Pastor Maveni Kaufononga and Pastor Linray Tutuo.

Surakarta, West Indonesia. For Nita Baseresere, a missionary from Fiji, the call to serve in Indonesia wasn’t just a change in location, it was a leap of faith. Leaving the familiarity of home, family, and comfort, she arrived in Surakarta with a heart full of obedience and a suitcase of courage.

On the 23rd of April, the East Honiara Dorcas team, with our District Director Pr. Maebule Tome and a few faithful men, walked into Rove Prison—not with judgment, but with compassion. We carried Jesus' words in our hearts: “I was in prison and you visited me” (Matthew 25:36).

The soft launch was held at the Fiji Mission Conference Centre in Suvavou and was attended by Mission staff, Central Region ministers, elders from the Suva districts, and personal ministries leaders.
