Crossing Cultures Symposium 2025 Inspires Future Mission Leaders at Fulton

Fulton Adventist University College, Nadi – September 5-7, 2025

This weekend, Fulton Adventist University College came alive with energy, vision, and a renewed passion for mission as students, leaders, and lecturers gathered for the Crossing Cultures for Mission Symposium. The event, part of a four-part leadership training series sponsored by the South Pacific Division (SPD) Adventist Mission and Mission to the Cities, brought together some of the region’s most experienced voices in mission and discipleship.

With the theme of “Crossing Cultures for Mission,” the symposium challenged participants to see beyond boundaries of culture, race, gender, and religion, and to embrace the call to make disciples of every nation, tribe, and people.

Keynote speaker Dr. Unia Api, Senior Lecturer at Pacific Adventist University, opened the symposium with a powerful presentation on “Sharing God’s Story in a Complex World.” His message resonated deeply as students considered the challenges and opportunities of sharing the gospel in today’s diverse contexts.

Dr. Wayne Krause, SPD Director of Global Mission and Mission to the Cities, delivered the divine service, stirring hearts with a call for the Adventist Church to return to its roots as a disciple-making movement. “We are not just called to attend church—we are called to be the church and bring hope across cultures,” he said.

Other presenters included Dr. Agnes Kola, who spoke on Theology of Crossing Cultures, Pr. Eliki Kenivale, who shared a powerful case study from his 31 years of cross-cultural mission work, and Pr. Linray Tutuo, who closed with an inspiring session on Christ Between Cultures.

The weekend wasn’t just about listening, it was about transformation. Students engaged in worship, prayer, and interactive sessions that equipped them with practical tools for ministry. By the end of the symposium, participants left with a clearer vision: to be disciples of Jesus who make disciples, plant churches, and bring the gospel to towns, villages, and cities across the Pacific.
