Harnessing Media for Evangelism: 536 Souls Baptised During July Harvest in the Solomon Islands
The culmination of the Solomon Islands SDA Mission’s annual Pentecostal harvest in July was a testament to the power of unwavering faith and the collective commitment of believers to the gospel. Sparked by the “I Will Go to My Neighbour” initiative launched earlier in the year, churches across the mission embraced evangelistic endeavours.
July's combined media evangelism was a crucial platform in these evangelistic efforts. With the goal of spreading the three angels' message both domestically and internationally, churches equipped with internet and TV access joined forces for three weeks of live streaming via channels like the Hope Channel TV, TTV1-2, and the Hope Channel Facebook page, as well as Hope radio. A trio of devoted evangelists, Pr. Irving Vagha, Pr. Eddie Richardson, and Pr. Mockson Wale, graced the pulpit, each contributing their unique spiritual insights.
It's worth noting that these broadcasts from the Maranatha centre went on uninterrupted, a remarkable feat considering the persistent electricity issues in Honiara city. Those regions without internet or TV connectivity engaged with pre-recorded sermons, while some persisted with conventional evangelistic preaching.
The culmination of this three-week evangelistic drive was a baptismal ceremony held across various regions - Northern, Central, Western, and Honiara. 536 souls committed themselves to Christ during July. This number, combined with previous baptisms, brought the total for the first half of 2023 to an impressive 846 souls!
The baptism result experienced within the mission in the month of July alone is a testimony of a combined effort by the churches, the institutions, groups, and individuals within the mission. It is encouraging to see the church of God Rallying efforts, gifts, talents, and resources for the work of God to bring in more souls for the Kingdom of God.
Gratitude must be extended to the Solomon Islands Mission team, Hope Channel team, volunteers, pastors, ministers, elders, church leaders, members, schools, and every individual who dedicated themselves to God’s work. As Jesus declares in Revelation 22:12, rewards await the faithful.
As time races on towards Christ's glorious return, let this monumental harvest serve as a reminder of our mission: to serve God and guide as many souls as possible to Him.
To God be the Glory, great things He had done!
