TPUM & SPD Staff Enjoy Fellowship Sabbath at Navesau Adventist High School

On August 12th, the Trans Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) celebrated the 2023 Education Week of Emphasis and the end of their Moratorium week by worshipping and spending the Sabbath with staff and students at Navesau Adventist High School.

Leaders from the South Pacific Division (SPD), including Igor Radonjic (legal), Dean Tichborne (technology), Aokuso Aiolupotea (technology), David Potter (people services), and Jason Levin (Adsafe), shared heartwarming personal testimonies and stories that reaffirmed the essence of the Adventist mission. Each expressed a desire to revisit the experience with their families, emphasising the impactful atmosphere at Navesau along with their week-long experience in Fiji.

Dr. David McClintock, the former SPD Education Director and now the Adsafe Acting General Manager, reminisced about his connection with Navesau, saying, "Navesau has always been a beacon of memories. To witness the Navesau Choir fill the chapel with their harmonious praise felt akin to a heavenly experience."

Education Director Anasa Vateitei (please check correct titles) for Fiji Mission conveyed his thanks to Navesau, SPD and TPUM as they exchanged appreciation.

For the past 34 years, Principal Josua Qalobula has dedicated himself to serving as both a teacher and an administrator, and his leadership was commended during the Sabbath program. Under his leadership, Navesau is endeavouring to carry out the mission, “My utmost for His highest”. Each student and teacher has committed to striving to give their best in and out of the classroom, because they want to give their “best to the Lord”.

It has been more than 55 years since the Navesau property * on the north back of the Wainibuka River in Viti Levu was selected and developed and open its doors to students in 1964. Today with 283 students it continues to offer excellence in education to local students in Fiji and students from neighbouring countries such as Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Nauru.

The Trans Pacific Union Mission staff, families and guests felt immensely blessed to fellowship with Navesau at the end of a busy and constructive week of professional development.

Secretary of TPUM said, "Throughout the week, our team took time to reflect on God’s divine guidance throughout our careers and our intentions to live a life of service. The chance to interact with the next generation of leaders at Navesau, and their heartfelt reception and enthusiastic appreciation enriched us even more. Being a part of this Emphasis Education Week has indeed been a privilege”.
