Accreditation of Bachelor of Business [Marketing]

Fulton Adventist University College’s Department of Business was buzzing with excitement as they awaited the final steps in their quest for accreditation from the Fiji Higher Education Commission. The Bachelor of Business in Marketing Program had undergone a rigorous process of preparation and documentation.

On the 4th of June 2023, the department welcomed Mr Anil Senewiratne (External Accreditation Assessor) with accreditation Officers from Fiji Higher Education Commission. As the designated representative, Mr Senewiratne carried the responsibility of assessing the department’s facilities, faculty, curriculum, and overall adherence to quality standards.

Guided by the Business Development Head, Mr Anil Singh. Mr Senewiratne embarked on a comprehensive tour of the campus. He visited the academic lecture rooms, College business computer labs equipped with the latest technology a well-stocked library boasting an extensive collection of marketing resources where students could develop their research skills. The assessor also had the opportunity to witness engaging lectures and discussion taking place, showcasing the dynamic environment fostered within the department.

Throughout the visit, Mr Senewiratne and accrediting officers from FHEC engaged in detailed discussions with faculty members probing their expertise and knowledge. The accreditation officers sought to understand teaching methodologies, research contributions, and how the department demonstrates its dedication to providing a well-rounded FAUC education.

After an intensive day of assessment, discussions and observations, the site visitation ended. FHEC accrediting officer and assessors expressed their admiration for the Business Department’s commitment to excellence and its alignment with the accreditation criteria set by FHEC.

With the site visitation successfully completed, the accrediting officers will complete their due process in the coming weeks with their recommendations. This accreditation will solidify the reputation and open doors for students who want to be marketers in their careers. The accreditation not only brought recognition to the Business Department but also instilled a sense of pride and confidence in the University College.

With the accreditation in hand, the Business Department at FAUC looked forward to welcoming a new cohort of students, confident that their program’s creditability and reputation would attract aspiring marketers seeking a wholistic education and a promising future.
