The event, held in Suvavou, featured guest speakers Justin Khoe, founder of the Digital Missionary Academy in the US, and Tim McTernan, Sales and Marketing Manager for Adventist Media at the South Pacific Division.

The workshop aimed to explore the impact of social media in Fiji and how Adventists can make a difference in the digital space. Other presenters from around Fiji included Mr Sisa L Yabakionosagavulu, Mr Savenaca Siwatibau, Mr Lemeki Waqa, Pr Asalusi Kunabuli, and Mr Sainivalati.

Joni Vatuvatu, Communications and Media Director of the Fiji Mission expressed his appreciation for the contributions made by Khoe and McTernan. "Justin and Tim's presentations really impressed participants on the impact of being a digital missionary and they shared valuable insights on how to be successful," said Vatuvatu.

The workshop encouraged participants to maximize and utilize the latest apps and resources available online for effective digital discipleship. With the increasing influence of digital platforms, this event serves as a timely reminder for Adventists to embrace new technologies and methods to spread their message and connect with people worldwide.

Mr Vatuvatu said, “As the first of its kind in the region, the Digital Discipleship Workshop in Fiji, marks a significant milestone in the Adventist Church's ongoing efforts to adapt to the digital age, empowering a ‘New Generation’ of Digital Missionaries.” The hashtags #paradigmshifters and #digitaldiscipleshipfj2023 accompanied the event, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment to this new approach to ministry.
