Historic Visit to Vanuatu by Adventist General Conference Vice President

In a historic first, the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Vanuatu joyously welcomed Dr. Guillermo E. Biaggi, Vice President of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, from November 3rd to 6th, 2023. The visit, described as a courtesy call, marked Dr. Biaggi’s inaugural journey to the Pacific islands.

The event occurred at the Multipurpose Center in Epauto on November 4th, drawing more than 300 church members from across Efate Island. Dr. Biaggi's Sabbath message emphasised the global mission of the Gospel and God’s call for faithful men and women to lead with commitment and divine strength, referencing Philippians 4:13 and Jeremiah 29:11.

Prominent figures such as the Chairman of the Vanuatu Christian Council, Pr. Colling Keleb, Minister of Internal Affairs, Honorable Tchimacko Mahe, and other distinguished guests, including Mrs. Rothina Noka, contributed to the event's significance.

Sunday saw the esteemed guests exploring the beauty of Efate and Lelepa island, while Monday was dedicated to enriching the Mission staff with spiritual devotion and a visit to the local Hope Channel TV and radio studio, affirming the crucial role of media in evangelism.

The event was meticulously organized by the Mission Officers and supporting staff, who had been preparing for the occasion two weeks prior. It culminated in a farewell ceremony at the Mission headquarters.

Participants left with resonating messages from Dr. Biaggi, inspired to act on God’s calling. The visit's legacy was further marked by a guard of honour by pathfinders and ambassadors, creating a picturesque welcome that was described as "a beautiful view from the air."

In his closing remarks, Dr. Biaggi invoked the spirit of leadership, urging everyone to rise and shine with the glory of the Lord, as echoed in Isaiah 60:1. His parting challenge to the Mission staff encapsulated the visit's spirit: to approach their work with love and persistence, akin to a young boy's simple yet profound act of kindness towards his teacher.

The visit of Dr. Guillermo E. Biaggi to Vanuatu has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of the Adventist community, fostering a renewed zeal to spread the Gospel across the islands and beyond.
