Kauma Adventist High School Celebrates Historic Baptismal Service
ABEMAMA, KIRIBATI — A remarkable Sabbath at Kauma Adventist High School witnessed a powerful display of faith and unity as 75 individuals, including 71 students and 4 adults, publicly declared their commitment to Christ through baptism. This milestone marks a significant moment not only for the school but for the entire Abemama community.
The sacred service began early at 8 a.m., with candidates affirming their baptismal vows. Following this, the immersion ceremony took place in the tranquil waters of the Kauma lagoon. The service was led by Mission President Pastor Taabua Rokeatau, supported by Pastors Taraitoi Uriam, Temaiu Itaia, and School Chaplain Bakarereua, who guided the candidates through this life-changing commitment.
The atmosphere was filled with reverence and joy as hundreds of students, staff, and church members gathered to witness and support the candidates. The service extended throughout the Sabbath School period, reflecting the deep spiritual devotion and unity among participants and attendees.
After the baptisms, the congregation moved to the Ken Wright Chapel, where Mission President Pastor Rokeatau delivered an uplifting message of encouragement and faith, inspiring everyone present to continue their walk with Christ.
The day concluded with a combined reception lunch at the school maneaba, where families, students, and community members came together to celebrate. This fellowship meal fostered a sense of togetherness, reinforcing the bonds of the church family.
