Behind Bars, But Not Beyond Grace

On the 23rd of April, the East Honiara Dorcas team, with our District Director Pr. Maebule Tome and a few faithful men, walked into Rove Prison—not with judgment, but with compassion. We carried Jesus' words in our hearts: “I was in prison and you visited me” (Matthew 25:36).

They may be behind cold, iron bars… but their prayers are warm with longing. Their eyes hold pain, but their hearts still whisper for a second chance. Yesterday, we met not criminals—but broken dreams, lost sons, forgotten daughters… and we saw Jesus in every one of them.

These men and women are still part of our nation. They are not beyond hope. They touched the hearts of our Dorcas sisters deeply.

Adding to the blessing, the SOFIC Singers lifted hearts with songs of hope and grace—reminding every soul present that God still cares. Pr Tome's message was timely giving hope.

Out of respect and also abide with regulations, no pictures were taken—but their faces will linger in the hearts of those who visited.

Today the Central Honiara District Dorcas will visit and Thursday the West Honiara District Dorcas will also continue the ministry.
