Bible studies result in Nine giving their Lives for Christ in Tuvalu

Nine precious souls were baptised on Vaitupu Island, Tuvalu, on March 18th, after months of Bible studies and personal visitation by Church planter and Minister, Waisele Dokonivalu. The event was a joyful celebration of new beginnings and a reaffirmation of faith. One of the baptized members had a serious knee condition and needed crutches to support himself, but he did not let his health condition hinder him from following Jesus in the watery graves of baptism.

Minister Dokonivalu, who led the baptism, shared his admiration for the baptised member’s courage and determination: “His faith is truly inspiring. He was a former member, but through Bible studies and personal visitation, he recommitted his life to God.”

The baptism also saw the addition of three new members to the church. According to Minister Dokonivalu, they had been attending Bible studies regularly, and their attentiveness and curiosity showed a hunger for truth. “When you know the truth, it can hurt and offend, but it also promises to set people free,” he added.

Moving forward, the church plans to utilize small groups strategically to ensure that the new members feel at home in worship, fellowship, and study. “Our goal is for them to have a sense of belonging, build deeper relationships with God and others, exercise their faith, and grow to maturity,” said Minister Dokonivalu. The church will also organize special seminars during regular church programs to help the new members identify their roles, functions, and responsibilities in God’s church.

Minister Dokonivalu humbly requested prayers for the work of God in Tuvalu, saying that many Bible study candidates are still deciding to be baptised, while some families have stopped him from personally visiting them and conducting Bible studies in their houses. He believes that joining God in His work is challenging but exceptionally rewarding and brings great joy.
