“Fiji-Wide Sabbath Combine Fills HFC Stadium with Praise and Purpose”
The HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, with a seating capacity of over 15,000, was filled today with Seventh-day Adventists from across Fiji who gathered for a Fiji-wide Sabbath combine in commemoration of the Fiji Mission Sessions (Bose Ko Viti). What a blessing it was to worship together the Lamb of God, uniting believers from every corner of Fiji this Sabbath. The Fiji Mission church family is made up of iTaukei, Indo-Fijians, Rotumans, and Rabians, reflecting the diversity of God’s people in the nation.
The service opened with Hymn 341, To God Be the Glory, resounding throughout the stadium as voices rang out: “Praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice… and give Him the glory, great things He hath done.” Indeed, this hymn captured the sentiment of every heart present—giving glory to God for the great things He has done.
TPUM President, Pastor Charlie Jimmy, delivered a stirring message, urging all in attendance to “Rejoice! Rejoice in His soon fulfillment and fullness.” He reminded members of the true motivation of a Christian and of a Seventh-day Adventist: “We are a people of prophetic destiny.” Pastor Charlie challenged the congregation with an appeal: “Pray that God will kick me out of my comfort zone and lead me to bring one soul to Jesus.” In his closing charge, he declared, “God is counting us one by one to go out into the harvest field. Let’s make a transformation and a change in the next five years to be more deeply involved in the work for Jesus!”
