“Final Countdown to TPUM Youth Congress 2024: I Will Go Shape the World”

The Youth Congress preparations are moving forward with great momentum as we approach the event, which promises to bring together young people from across various Pacific islands. As of the latest update on September 31, 2024, a total of 1,195 participants have registered out of the estimated 1,880. Notable attendance includes 369 participants from Vanuatu, 326 from Samoa, and 129 from Fiji. This year's Congress will feature distinguished guest speakers, including Dr. Pako Edson Mokgwane from the General Conference Youth Ministries and Dr. Sven Ostring from the South Pacific Division (SPD), who will address topics relevant to youth ministry and personal growth.

The Congress itinerary highlights a diverse selection of workshops tailored to the interests and needs of young attendees. Key workshops include sessions on digital discipleship led by John Tausere. Mental health and youth by George Kwong. and Lia Daucakacaka, and a discussion on courtship and marriage facilitated by Natasha Su’a and Pr. Linray Tutuo. There is also an exciting workshop for those interested in volunteer opportunities titled "I Will Go to the End of the World," led by Jade Rasmussen and Pr. Maveni Kaufononga. Additionally, Dr. Sven and Pr. Uili Tino will lead the Youth Issues workshop, focusing on critical topics such as drug addiction, moral issues, and early pregnancy. Each workshop is designed to accommodate 200 participants, with sessions lasting approximately 50 to 55 minutes and offered three times a day to maximize accessibility.

The opening ceremony will be a vibrant celebration of youth and faith, beginning with a flag march featuring representatives from local missions, followed by anthems, special music, and speeches from key leaders, including Pr. Maveni from the Trans-Pacific Union Mission (TPUM). A spiritual message will be delivered by Dr. Pako, underscoring the event's theme of unity and commitment to youth empowerment.
