On October 16th, 2023, the vibrant church community proudly unveiled their new church building and officially transitioned to the Hingal Organized Seventh-day Adventist Church. Established in 1958 by pioneer Michel Varu, the church has been a beacon of faith and service.

On September 14, the seaside village of Hog Harbour welcomed a dedicated group from New Zealand, marking the return of the #adraconnections team after four years. Over the next ten days, their mission was clear and impactful: to build 19 specially designed latrines for the disabled, enhancing the community's sanitation infrastructure. This effort, part of the SHAPE project and supported by the New Zealand Government and Latter-day Saint Charities, is a testament to the power of global cooperation and community support.

In a remarkable display of international compassion and community service, the Granite Hilltop Adventist Church from Sacramento, California, hosted a free health clinic from October 30th to November 3rd, at Deuba SDA Campsite in Fiji. Hundreds from all over Fiji benefited from the free medical services that would have otherwise been out of reach. The mission concluded with the promising announcement of a permanent healthcare facility to be established in the region.

Deuba, Fiji — In a nation where diabetes claims a staggering one-fourth of all deaths annually, Deputy Prime Minister Honorable Biman Prasad's message at the launch of National Diabetes Awareness Week was a sobering wake-up call. "This is very alarming!" Prasad stated, addressing the public on the critical state of diabetes in Fiji, which sees approximately 1,500 lives lost each year to the disease — the highest rate in the world. The weeklong initiative, led by Diabetes Fiji Inc. in partnership with Hope Clinic and the Ministry of Health & Medical Services, aims to combat the widespread nature of this health crisis through education and community empowerment. As the Live More Abundantly program unfolds, with the support of ADRA Australia, Fijians are encouraged to confront the challenge of diabetes with actionable knowledge and sustainable health choices.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Fiji orchestrated the official handover after extensive retrofitting work aimed at transforming the Trans Pacific Union head office in Tamavua, Fiji, into a disability-friendly space. This initiative is part of the larger Fiji Disaster Ready Churches project, funded by the South Pacific Division of the SDA Church through ADRA South Pacific.

From September 6th to 9th, the "TPUM Digital Discipleship Training 2023" gathered 80 participants from across the South Pacific at Fulton Adventist University College in Fiji. Churches across the Solomon Islands Mission are celebrating a highly successful July Pentecostal harvest, which resulted in numerous baptisms. The harvest was part of the larger "I Will Go to My Neighbour" initiative.

The "Live More Abundantly" program in the Solomon Islands is empowering communities to combat lifestyle diseases through education and active engagement. In parallel, the "Adopt a Clinic" initiative is transforming health infrastructure, renewing hope for a healthier future in the islands.

The Fiji Mission on Thursday, 3 August commemorated the 132 years of Adventism in Fiji and acknowledged the sacrifice of the church’s pioneers and missionaries of the late 1800s.

The Fiji Mission has seen 804 baptisms, between January and July of this year. This success follows the annual theme "I Will Go To My Neighbours", motivating every church to reach out to Indian communities. Baptisms are expected to continue to rise as evangelisms progress across Fiji.

The Adventist Health Expo in Luganville Santo, Sanma Province, drew over a thousand participants from 30th June to 2nd July 2023. Offering free health services and education, the event highlighted the importance of holistic health and collaboration in enhancing public well-being.

Fulton Adventist University College (FAUC) has taken a pivotal step in enhancing the qualifications of untrained teachers, ministers, and Bible workers in Vanuatu. The recently held off-campus program, organized in collaboration with the Vanuatu Education Department, saw approximately 165 participants from across the nation partake in courses aimed at developing leadership skills and strengthening Adventist institutions. The program, set to continue until 2024, promises to boost the competence of human resources in these crucial fields of work.

In an effort to refocus and revitalise their mission, twenty-five administrators from the Trans Pacific Union joined other South Pacific Division leaders at the SPD Administrator's Council 2023 in Queensland, Australia. With a theme centred on 'Mission Refocus', the event challenged leaders to strengthen their approach towards ministry, leadership, and governance, ultimately driving progress for their missions and communities.

Marking a milestone in Fiji's disaster preparedness landscape, the inaugural National Emergency Response Team (NERT) Awards recognised the efforts of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Fiji, along with the first responders from the country's newly formed NERT.

On Sabbath, 17th June 2023, staff and prefects from Niue High School joined a spiritually enriching event at Niue Seventh-day Adventist Church. The day was marked by strong community ties, personal growth, and deep faith.

On June 25, 2023, the Tamavua English SDA Church opened a beacon of hope and health in their community - the Wellness Hub. Beyond being a place of worship, the church now aims to promote healthy living, thanks to the refurbished Kitchen sponsored by the 10,000 Toes Campaign. The Wellness Hub seeks to provide lifestyle education programs and healthy living initiatives like cooking classes, aimed at helping community members make healthier choices and combat non-communicable diseases prevalent in Fiji. With enthusiastic support from its members and the broader community, the Hub represents a major milestone in the church's mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus.

The Adventist Music Festival, titled "Sounds of Hope," provided a five-day spiritual journey from the 8th to the 12th of June, 2023. Taking place at the SDA Multi-Purpose Hall in Vanuatu, the festival brought together over 300 participants from different churches across the region. Through original compositions by local talents and stirring messages from distinguished figures, "Sounds of Hope" offered more than just music. It was a celebration of the Seventh-day Adventist Church's rich history and a testament to its enduring growth. As Pastor David George stated in his closing remarks, "Each of us, church members, we are on a journey towards heaven…we praise God for His blessings on His church, His people.”
