The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in the Solomon Islands has recently taken a significant step towards community empowerment and safety by organizing an extensive two-day First Aid Training at its Kukudu Branch Office in the Western Province. Held on November 6th and 7th, this initiative was aimed at equipping ADRA staff and local community members with vital skills to effectively handle emergency situations.

Biaggi, Vice President of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, from November 3rd to 6th, 2023. The visit, described as a courtesy call, marked Dr. Biaggi’s inaugural journey to the Pacific islands.

Nadi, Fiji – Fulton Adventist University College marked a significant milestone with the graduation of 173 students at its Sabeto Campus. The ceremony, themed “Embracing New Heights,” recognized the academic success of students from Fiji and other Pacific Island nations.

The 10,000 Toes "Step Up to Wholeness" Wellness Summit 2023 took place from October 27 to 30 in Apia, Samoa. The event focused on the 10,000 Toes campaign's objectives to combat lifestyle diseases, with a goal to see a reduction in diabetes and similar conditions by 2030. Activities included sharing testimonies, knowledge, and experiences related to health and wellness.

Between September 25 and October 4, Burns Creek Primary and High School in Honiara, Solomon Islands, embarked on a transformative project – the construction of a Multi-Purpose Hall. Under the leadership of Principal Partinson Bekala, this essential development aims to address the lack of assembly space for the 1,000 students of the school. The new hall is envisioned to be a unifying structure, designed to bring together students and staff, thereby strengthening the school's community spirit.

In a harmonious blend of celebration and spiritual dedication, the Hingal Seventh-day Adventist Church on Paama Island commemorates its 65-year legacy with a dual milestone. On October 16th, 2023, the vibrant church community proudly unveiled their new church building and officially transitioned to the Hingal Organized Seventh-day Adventist Church. Established in 1958 by pioneer Michel Varu, the church has been a beacon of faith and service.

On September 14, the seaside village of Hog Harbour welcomed a dedicated group from New Zealand, marking the return of the #adraconnections team after four years. Over the next ten days, their mission was clear and impactful: to build 19 specially designed latrines for the disabled, enhancing the community's sanitation infrastructure. This effort, part of the SHAPE project and supported by the New Zealand Government and Latter-day Saint Charities, is a testament to the power of global cooperation and community support.

In a remarkable display of international compassion and community service, the Granite Hilltop Adventist Church from Sacramento, California, hosted a free health clinic from October 30th to November 3rd, at Deuba SDA Campsite in Fiji. Hundreds from all over Fiji benefited from the free medical services that would have otherwise been out of reach. The mission concluded with the promising announcement of a permanent healthcare facility to be established in the region.

Deuba, Fiji — In a nation where diabetes claims a staggering one-fourth of all deaths annually, Deputy Prime Minister Honorable Biman Prasad's message at the launch of National Diabetes Awareness Week was a sobering wake-up call. "This is very alarming!" Prasad stated, addressing the public on the critical state of diabetes in Fiji, which sees approximately 1,500 lives lost each year to the disease — the highest rate in the world. The weeklong initiative, led by Diabetes Fiji Inc. in partnership with Hope Clinic and the Ministry of Health & Medical Services, aims to combat the widespread nature of this health crisis through education and community empowerment. As the Live More Abundantly program unfolds, with the support of ADRA Australia, Fijians are encouraged to confront the challenge of diabetes with actionable knowledge and sustainable health choices.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Fiji orchestrated the official handover after extensive retrofitting work aimed at transforming the Trans Pacific Union head office in Tamavua, Fiji, into a disability-friendly space. This initiative is part of the larger Fiji Disaster Ready Churches project, funded by the South Pacific Division of the SDA Church through ADRA South Pacific.

From September 6th to 9th, the "TPUM Digital Discipleship Training 2023" gathered 80 participants from across the South Pacific at Fulton Adventist University College in Fiji. The primary goal of this special training program was to empower participants with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively share the teachings of Jesus in today's tech-driven world.

The Niue Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated the culmination of its evangelistic program at Vaiea Village Ground with four individuals taking the significant step of baptism. This momentous occasion underscored the success of the event and the personal spiritual journeys of the baptized, reflecting the church's commitment to gospel proclamation and community growth.

The “I will go to my Neighbour” Emphasis in the Solomon Islands SDA Mission culminated in a big harvest at the end of the Mission’s annual Pentecostal harvest in the month of July.

Churches across the Solomon Islands Mission are celebrating a highly successful July Pentecostal harvest, which resulted in numerous baptisms. The harvest was part of the larger "I Will Go to My Neighbour" initiative.
